Giants activate WR Shepard ahead of game vs. Eagles

The New York Giants activated wide receiver Sterling Shepard from injured reserve prior to Thursday’s road game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Shepard has been sidelined since sustaining a toe injury in the second quarter of the Giants’ 17-13 loss to the Chicago Bears on Sept. 20.

Shepard, 27, has eight receptions for 76 yards in two games this season for New York (1-5), which has lost its last seven encounters against Philadelphia.

Shepard has recorded 255 catches for 2,938 yards and 17 touchdowns in 55 career games since being selected by the Giants in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

The Giants also elevated wide receiver Alex Bachman and linebacker Trent Harris from their practice squad ahead of the game against the Eagles (1-4-1).
