Indiana-bound five-star point guard Khristian Lander reclassified to the incoming class of 2020 and will join the Hoosiers for the upcoming basketball season.
Lander’s addition was always expected, but he was originally in the Class of 2021. Lander first broached the possibility of reclassifying in February and made the move official on Monday.
The Evansville, Ind., product was widely recruited by college basketball’s top programs. He was averaging 21.0 points, 6.0 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game in his junior season before the high school basketball season ended abruptly due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Lander, who is listed as 6-foot-1 and 160 pounds, was the top-ranked high school junior point guard on the 247 Sports composite. He becomes the fourth player in coach Archie Miller’s 2020 class, joining Trey Galloway, Jordan Geronimo and Anthony Leal.
Lander, Galloway and Leal all played for the Adidas Indiana Elite AAU program.
