Wil Lutz made a 39-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Denver Broncos to a stunning 33-32 comeback win over the visiting New York Giants on Sunday afternoon.

Bo Nix passed for 279 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 48 yards and two more scores for Denver (5-2), which scored all 33 of its points in the fourth quarter. The Broncos trailed 19-0 at the end of the third quarter and 26-8 with just over five minutes remaining.

The 33 fourth-quarter points are the most in NFL history by a team that had been shut out in the first three quarters.

Jaxson Dart completed 15 of 33 passes for 283 yards and three touchdowns, but threw a costly interception in the fourth quarter for New York (2-5). Cam Skattebo rushed 16 times for 60 yards for the Giants, who allowed the most points in a quarter in franchise history.

Nix started the comeback with a 7-yard rushing touchdown with 5:13 to play. He converted a two-point conversion moments later to pull the Broncos within 26-16.

Dart threw an interception three plays later, which opened the door for another Broncos scoring drive. Nix took advantage by connecting with rookie RJ Harvey for a 2-yard touchdown pass, reducing the deficit to 26-23 with 3:51 left.

New York went three-and-out to give the ball back to the Broncos.

Nix thrilled the home crowd with an 18-yard touchdown run to put Denver on top 30-26 with 1:51 remaining. He cut to his left and sprinted down the sideline for the go-ahead score.

The Giants battled back on their next possession. Denver was called for defensive pass interference to give New York the ball at the Broncos’ 1-yard line, and Dart punched the ball across the goal line.

Jude McAtamney missed the extra-point attempt to keep the Giants’ lead at 32-30 with 37 seconds left.

A short kickoff return gave Denver the ball at its 23-yard line with 33 seconds to go.

Nix hit Marvin Mims for a 29-yard completion that moved the ball to the Giants’ 48-yard line. Moments later, New York was whistled for a neutral zone infraction to move the ball to the 43.

Nix put the Broncos in field-goal range with a 22-yard completion to Courtland Sutton. That put Denver at the New York 21-yard line, and Nix spiked the ball to stop the clock with three seconds to go.

Lutz provided a punctuation mark on the wild fourth quarter with a 39-yard kick to seal the win.
